Aetna® plans provide the Medicare coverage you may want and need.
Aetna offers several different types of Medicare Advantage plans. Each combines Medicare Part A and Part B (Original Medicare) benefits in a single plan. Aetna Medicare Advantage plans also offer additional benefits that Original Medicare doesn’t cover.
More than 33 million people are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan.1
Explore your Aetna Medicare Advantage plan options and consider which one might work for your Medicare coverage needs. With an Aetna health maintenance organization (HMO) plan, you have access to a network of medical providers and facilities.
This network includes thousands of health care professionals. And it can include in-network coverage when you travel in the U.S., depending on where you are and your plan’s network coverage.
Aetna Medicare Advantage HMO plans typically require you to select a primary care provider (PCP). Your PCP can give you referrals for specialist visits and hospital care.
This plan gives you access to a local network of health care providers and facilities.
To ensure coverage, you are typically required to use network providers for your care, except for out-of-network emergency situations or urgent care.
An Aetna preferred provider organization (PPO) plan gives you access to a nationwide network of medical providers and facilities.
It also gives you the flexibility to visit out-of-network providers. However, your out-of-pocket costs will typically be lower when you visit providers in your plan’s network. And you don’t need referrals to see a specialist.
An Aetna Medicare Prime Plan (PPO) also gives you the freedom to choose from a local network of provider options.
You can visit any doctor in or out of your plan network, as long as they accept Medicare and the Aetna plan terms. However, it will typically cost you less to use providers in your plan’s network.
Aetna Medicare Advantage plans may offer additional benefits and services that help get you the resources and the care that you need.
These benefits can include:
Plan selection, premiums and out-of-pocket costs vary by location.
